Here is my entry for the Collage Scrap Exchange contest organized by Papirmass and Brown Paper Bag! The theme this year was "New Landscapes". Pretty open-ended :)
This is how it works-- you are paired up with another artist who signs up from anywhere in the world, you exchange scraps with each other via mail, and then make a collage based on the theme using your own scraps and your partner's gifted scraps.
I've always been inspired by book-art / carvings I've seen online and wanted to try my hand in it. This is the first time I've taken collage art seriously! Obviously not the best craftsmanship, but it was fun thinking about the theme and juxtaposing the images with the text. (By the way, the book is a children's abridged version of Huckleberry Finn!). "New landscapes" is a theme very near and dear to me :)
